Baby Shower Cupcakes

Cynthia's Baby Shower 1-28-13 (5)

For this yellow, gray and white themed baby shower I made 50 cupcakes decorated 5 different ways. Half the cupcakes were covered in fondant with either polka dots or layered flowers with button centers. The other half were frosted with buttercream. Some were topped with coins embossed with an “E”, some were topped with letters to spell out EMILY and the rest were piped to look like flowers with some sugar glitter and sugar pearls in the center. Half the cupcakes are red velvet and the other half are white velvet.

Boy’s Baptism

This is a sweet cake design for a boy’s baptism or christening. It could be easily adapted for a girl with a different color combination.¬†Or make if for any occassion by¬†swapping out the cross in the circle for anything you like. I kept it simple using white buttercream icing, a white fondant covered cake board trimmed with white ribbon. The lettering and ball border are done with royal icing and, as always, the decorations are done with my homemade fondant. Inside is 4 layers of white with 3 layers of raspberry filling.
